Our Approach

Being able to provide cutting edge design solutions is a strength we have at hand, but having the ability to listen to our clients requirements means that we are able to offer solutions that continue to meet and exceed all expectations.

Although our creatives will always take a fresh approach to new design projects, the basic stages remain constant:

Brief Stage

To begin a project we would ideally need a design brief and an initial meeting to talk through the brief in person. If you do not have much experience in writing briefs we can talk you through the main requirements.

The general information required is as follows:

  • What do you want to produce?
  • Who is it aimed at?
  • Where is it going to be positioned / placed / delivered?
  • What quantity do you have in mind?
  • What is your budget? (Optional)
  • When is your delivery deadline?

At this stage we can give a few verbal solutions that we think are appropriate. An indication of costs can be discussed in order to establish that we are in the correct ball park.

Quote Stage

When we submit a quote we feel it is important to give a detailed breakdown of each stage of the project. We will include a recommended timetable structure if a tight deadline is looming. Often we will outline costs for various different ways of producing your required material and we will provide samples when it is relevant. We are keen to make sure that you are aware of all the possibilities and we will use our experience to guide your decisions to maximise the potential for your project.

We find that most clients prefer to work on a fixed price basis. Whereby we will include a specified amount of amendment stages within the quotation. We do not surprise our clients with extra hidden costs, if ever the project looks like it might exceed the allocated budget we inform the client before we proceed with any further work.

Visual Stage

Upon agreement of our quotation we will proceed to produce our initial ideas, unless they were submitted with the quotation, in which case they would already exist. After a discussion to establish whether these ideas are heading in the right direction we will proceed to either develop them further or start again with a different approach.

When the ideas are developed to mock up stage we will present them. This can be done either in a meeting, via e-mail, via post in the form of mock-up visuals or via our test server (if the project is internet based). Fixed price quotations usually allow for up to four amendment stages, after each amendment stage the work will be re-submitted for approval.

When all parties involved are 100% satisfied with the design we will request sign off and proceed to the production stage.

Production Stage

This stage varies dependent upon the nature of the project but generally if the project is print based we would pre-press the artwork and supply a final proof for sign off. If the project is internet based we would proceed to check that it is compatible with all the relevant browsers and start the optimisation process by submitting the site to over 500 search engines.

Hopefully this information has been useful, we would be happy to discuss any queries you may have, whether it's advice, costs on possible ideas or to request a competitive quote against your existing supplier. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
